If you're used to wearing low shoes almost all year round and suddenly you have a "heel" event coming up for which you even bought a new higher model, we don't recommend slipping into it right before the event. Your feet need time to adjust to the heels, so you should shamelessly practice walking in your new shoes a bit beforehand. For example, walk around your apartment for a couple of days and break in the new shoes, but most importantly, find the right stability and posture so that you don't suddenly look comical when you slip into the heels.
